To cook basic white rice you must first rinse the rice thoroughly, until the water runs clear. This removes the excess starch and helps keep the grains separate, light and fluffy. When steaming rice, a general ratio of rice to water is about 1-part-rice to just under 2-parts-water. Add rice to boiling water, lower the heat and simmer for 17 to 20 minutes and do not open the lid. Fluff up the cooked rice and serve.

She is also a certified sommelier with extensive wine knowledge. Nikki loves not being restricted to any one particular cuisine and experiments with flavors and ingredients from all over the world. She considers growing up in New York to be the best culinary education one can obtain and says her family and friends constantly tease her about how passionate she is about food. Her future plans are to expand her restaurant group with several new concepts.
